Social Skills Groups

As a benefit of membership, ASGO provides social skills groups to individuals with autism ages 2 thru adulthood.  Our unique social skills groups allow children/teen/adults with autism the opportunity to participate in community outings while being provided the support and understanding they need to have a successful experience.  ASGO picks up the entire cost of participation for the individual with autism so that cost is never a factor in being able to access this support/service.

ASGO’s social skills groups are broken down into 4 different groups:

Preschool/Elementary Greater Orlando – this group is for ages 2-11 – this group meets out in the community once a month.  The entire family is encouraged to participate.  Activities have included making nitrogen ice cream, picking strawberries, bowling, and music therapy.

Teen Group – this group is for ages 12-15 – this group meets out in the community every other Thursday.  Activities include making chocolate, making pizzas, bowling, and scavenger hunts in the Mall.

Young Adult Group – this group is for ages 16-20 – the group meets out in the community every other Thursday.  Activities include making purchases within budget, playing miniature golf, singing karaoke, and dancing.

Adult – this group meets out in the community every other Thursday.  Activities help facilitate peer interaction enjoying community activities such as bowling, cooking, and etc.
